In July 2008, Guyana wood exports in China increased by 17% compare with the total export volume in May and June. The huge demand for Cumaru in China was the main reason causing the rise of log exports from Guyana. According to the statistics, Cumaru exports in China increased by 48% over the previous year. The export volume in July increased by 42% compared with the same time of 2007.
