According to the statistics from Customs, furniture exports in Shunde amounted to $300 million in the first five months of this year, up 44.9% over the same period of last year. Whereas, furniture exports to Europe and America greatly increased. This became a spotlight in Shunde furniture export.

Shunde is the famous furniture manufacturing base in China. Its reported that, the furniture exports in Shunde totaled $530 million in 2007, up 61.1% over the same period of 2006. And the continuous rise of furniture exports in the first five months of this year Shunde became the main significant strength to boost the jump of foreign trade and export. 

In the first five months of 2008, Europe, Hongkong and America were still the main export markets of Shunde furniture products. And the furniture exports to those three markets accounted for 73.5% of the total. Especially in Europe and America, furniture exports amounted to $95.68 million and $59.89 million respectively, up 100% and 73.5% over the same period of 2006. Exports to Hongkong were $62.73 million, down 18.7%.
